Reflexology works on the principle that the feet represent miniature maps of the body and when pressure is applied to particular areas (reflex points) this encourages the body’s own natural healing processes to restore a healthy balance and create a feeling of well being.

What can Reflexology do for me?

Reflexology works on the entire body and is used primarily to relieve stress and tension and produce deep therapeutic relaxation. Health professionals agree that many of our health problems can be linked to nervous and physical tension. By reducing stress and tension, reflexology improves blood and lymph circulation, strengthens the functioning of the immune system, improves assimilation of nutrition and elimination of toxins and calms the nervous system. In these ways, reflexology facilitates the body’s natural healing processes and thereby enhances the body’s health and vitality.

What to expect
What happens when I come for treatment?

On the first visit we will have a discussion to determine your health and lifestyle. This is so we can build a picture of you as a whole person rather than just focusing on any one problem you may have.

Once your footwear is removed, your feet will be bathed in an aromatic foot bath, to cleanse and prepare your feet for treatment. You will then lay down on a comfortable treatment bed, wrapped in a warm blanket and the lights will be dimmed. Your treatment will then commence.

Any subtle changes will be noted and worked upon - this may in turn affect the corresponding area, organ or system of the body.

How will I feel afterwards?

After one or two treatments your body may respond in a very definite way. Most people have a sense of well being and relaxation. Sometimes people can feel lethargic or tired but this is transitory and is part of the healing process.

Following your  a Reflexology treatment, it is recommended to drink plenty of water, to avoid alcohol and have an early night’s sleep.
